We are looking to recruit marquee build crew to assist the business at our peak event delivery periods in spring and autumn 2022.

About Ourea Events

We’re a small (9) person team organising the UK’s finest and most challenging off-road running events including the Montane Dragon’s Back Race®, Cape Wrath Ultra®, Northern Traverse™, Salomon Skyline Scotland®, and the SILVA Great Lakeland 3Day™. We work year-round, primarily from a rural office near Kendal, and our passion is the outdoors, running and adventure.

JOB DETAILS

Location: Kendal, Cumbria plus on-site at events across the UK

Position type: freelance contract

Anticipated dates: late April & May 2022, late August & September 2022 (if you cannot join for all dates please just let us know your exact availability when you apply)

Salary: £100 per day (freelance contract basis)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The marquee build crew will be responsible for erecting and dismantling marquees at the events, driving vehicles, unloading and loading vehicles and assisting the marquee foreman/crew chief. This role will involve manual handling and heavy lifting over a period of several days.

The position will be mobile and based at a variety of event site locations and always start/end at the warehouse in Kendal, Cumbria.

Specific dates and locations are listed below:

  • SILVA Great Lakeland 3Day™; Wednesday 27th April – Wednesday 4th May

  • Cape Wrath Ultra®; Monday 16th May – Wednesday 1st June

  • Montane Dragon’s Back Race®; Tuesday 30th August – Monday 12th September

  • Skyline Scotland®; Tuesday 13th September – Wednesday 21st September

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES – WAREHOUSE

• Loading and unloading vehicles

• Cleaning and drying marquees

• Assisting with other tasks as required

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES – EVENTS

• Erecting and dismantling temporary structures

• Loading and unloading vehicles

• Laying track matting, if required

• Driving LWB (<3.5T) hire vans and other hire vehicles

• Assisting with event operational tasks as required

Mandatory qualifications

• UK driving licence (no more 3 points)

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

• Forklift driver

• C1 licence

• Driver CPC
