We’re a small (12) person team organising the UK’s finest and most challenging off-road running events including the Montane Dragon’s Back Race®, Cape Wrath Ultra®, Northern Traverse™, Salomon Skyline Scotland®, and the SILVA Great Lakeland 3Day™. We work year-round, primarily from a rural office near Kendal, and our passion is the outdoors, running and adventure.

JOB DETAILS

Location: Kendal, Cumbria plus onsite at events across the UK

Position type: Freelance, contract basis

Anticipated dates:

  • Late April & May 2022

  • Late August & September 2022

Salary: Dependent on job role, ranging from £100 - £150 per day

JOB DESCRIPTION

The catering crew will be responsible for feeding participants and crew three times a day from a mobile commercial kitchen.

There are various roles available such as Catering Team Leader, Kitchen Section Leaders and Kitchen Porters. These roles are split into two shifts over the period of the day; breakfast and lunch / dinner shift.

The event delivery periods are in Spring and Autumn 2022.

The positions will be mobile and based at a variety of event site locations and always start/end at the warehouse in Kendal, Cumbria.

Specific dates are listed below:

  • SILVA Great Lakeland 3Day™; Friday 29th April – Monday 2nd May

  • Cape Wrath Ultra®; Friday 20th May – Monday 30th May

  • Montane Dragon’s Back Race®; Friday 2nd September – Sunday 11th September

  • Skyline Scotland®; Thursday 15th September – Monday 19th September

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving hot breakfast, lunch and dinner for participants and event team (shift dependent)

• Pot wash, runner, cleaning tasks and stock check/inventory

• Assisting with building and dismantling of the kitchen (some heavy lifting)

• Driving V3 vans or refrigeration / freezer vans

• Assisting with catering tasks, as required

MANDATORY EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

• UK driving license (no more than 3 pts)

• Food Hygiene Level 2 +

• Previous catering experience (Catering Team Leader and Kitchen Section Leader roles)

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

• Food Hygiene Level 3

OTHER

Accommodation while on event is tented and you need to bring all your own camping equipment.
