We’re on the look out for an excellent customer experience specialist to join our team on a full time and permanent basis with a view to the successful candidate starting with us in January 2023.

About Ourea Events

We’re the small (12-person) permanent staff who organize the UK’s most challenging off-road running events including the Dragon’s Back Race®, Cape Wrath Ultra®, Salomon Skyline Scotland®, Great Lakeland 3Day™ and Northern Traverse™. We work year-round, primarily from a rural office near Kendal, and our passion is the outdoors.

JOB DETAILS

Location: Kendal, Cumbria

Position type: Full time 40hrs/week

Anticipated start date: January 2023

Salary: £24,500 FTE

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a proactive individual who can champion a new sales role in the business. The primary focus of this role will be to systematically follow up on enquiries and engage with existing and potential customers. The successful candidate will need to be an excellent communicator and the role will particularly suit a natural conversationalist who is excited to engage with customers via multiple mediums including face to face, phone, social media and email. The role is likely to suit someone who is highly approachable and enjoys interacting with a variety of people.

This role is based from our Kendal office with ad-hoc working from home possible. This role will also require the candidate to attend our events (in full, or part) during their initial 12 months of employment and may require an ongoing, indefinite commitment to attend our events in person. Additional and adjusted responsibilities to those listed should be expected in keeping with an ever-evolving small business. The successful candidate would also be entitled to the company pension scheme, TOIL payments for any days worked on events, and the company bonus scheme.

Roles and responsibilities

SALES

  • Following up on customer enquiries by email, phone, and social media

  • Proactively engaging with customers via social media to generate sales leads

  • Building long-term relationships with our participants with personalised responses to enquiries

  • Maintaining accurate records of customer interactions in the CRM system

  • Working with the wider Marketing and Sales team to coordinate resources, share knowledge and ensure efficient working

  • Coordinating our current eCommerce sales and developing new retail and merchandising opportunities

  • Potentially attending consumer events on behalf of the business

  • Collaborating with affiliate and partner brands to build consumer awareness

Customer Services

  • Covering holidays and sickness to support the customer service operations of the business

Requirements

Mandatory

  • A confident communicator who can speak about our product with natural enthusiasm and passion

  • The ability to connect with and understand a wide variety of people, including their motivations and doubts

  • Excellent attention to detail, highly motivated and proactive

  • Excellent written and spoken English

Desirable

  • Experience in a sales role

  • A natural affinity for, and interest in off-road running

  • Experience of participating, volunteering, or working at any of our events

  • Experience of digital marketing and advertising

  • Experience of social media platforms such as Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram

  • Experience of using customer relationship management systems

  • Fluency in a second language
