We’re a small (9) person team organising the UK’s finest and most challenging off-road running events including the Montane Dragon’s Back Race®, Cape Wrath Ultra®, Northern Traverse™, Salomon Skyline Scotland®, and the SILVA Great Lakeland 3Day™. We work year-round, primarily from a rural office near Kendal, and our passion is the outdoors, running and adventure.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Ourea Events is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and passionate warehouse and logistics manager to join the team based at our warehouse/office on the outskirts of Kendal, Cumbria. The position will play a key role in ensuring the integration of the warehouse management with the wider event planning and equipment hire side of the business. The position will have accountability for deliverables on a variety of events and projects as directed by the Operations Director. The successful candidate would also be entitled to the company pension scheme, TOIL payments for any days worked on events, and the company bonus scheme.

The job role will involve time split between manual handling in the warehouse, desk work, and onsite at the event(s) and is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a team delivering world class, challenging running adventures in beautiful mountain locations.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the role will include:

Warehouse

  • Management of goods in and out and stock inventory

  • Organisation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment (manual handling)

  • Ordering any consumables and items required for the events within a set budget

  • Management of health and safety in the warehouse

Transport

  • Assisting the Operations Director with the event(s) logistics and transport plan

  • Creating an event transport plan, per event, alongside the Operations Manager

  • Loading and unloading event hire vehicles with equipment

  • Booking temporary hire vehicles and being the supplier point of contact

  • Management of hire vehicles (incoming and outgoing), recording faults or damages/carrying out spot checks

  • Carrying out freelance and volunteer driver inductions in hire vehicles

This list is not exhaustive and changes to the role may evolve during the planning and delivery phases of the event(s).

Essential Skills/qualifications

  • UK driving license (with no more than 3 points)

  • Experience and knowledge in warehouse management

  • Attention to detail, excellent time management, interpersonal, and communication skills

  • Proficient skills within the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Excel and ability to learn and operate online systems

  • Highly resilient and able to work calmly when under pressure to meet immovable deadlines in challenging circumstances and to go the extra mile

Desirable Skills/qualifications

  • Forklift truck operator

  • Experience in the event industry

  • Driver CPC

  • Category C1 on driving licence

  • Category C1+E on driving licence

  • Experience of building effective relationships with suppliers
