MAIN FUNCTION OF THE JOB

This is Ourea Events’ first employee and the primary function of the role is to provide broad and varied administrative and marketing support to the business as it continues to grow. This role has the potential to expand with the business and we are looking for someone who is keen to take on more responsibility in the future.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

1)    Provide general customer service and administrative support to the business including answering customer emails and phone calls and administering the online entry system.

2)    Be a consistent and proactive voice of the business on social media networks such as Twitter and Facebook; answer enquiries received via social media and manage social media marketing campaigns.

3)    Maintain accurate and up-to-date information and content on the various event websites.

4)    Maintain an inventory of all company equipment and help with sorting, drying, and organisation of event kit before and after each event.

5)    Organise the purchase/hire of event equipment, supplies and vehicles for each event.

6)    Prepare pre-event registration lists and other essential documentation.

7)    Coordinate the recruitment of volunteer marshals before each event.

8)    Provide administrative support and manage registration and enquiries at events throughout the year. Each event requires long hours of work and a willingness to get stuck into a wide range of additional supporting tasks (time off in lieu will be granted).

9)    Book travel and accommodation.

10)    Support the preparation and distribution of event documentation (risk assessments, method statements and other event documentation for authorities and landowners).

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

It is important that the candidate has a natural feel for our business and experience of participating in running / mountain marathon / orienteering / adventure racing or similar events is important. 

The successful candidate is likely to have a diverse mix of skills and experience. They will work to a high standard at all times, have a professional yet friendly approach and take great pride and personal responsibility for the quality of their work.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, motivated, intelligent, and with natural aptitude to learn new skills quickly and contribute to a rapidly growing and dynamic company.

Full on-the-job training will be provided.

For a candidate with the appropriate experience, it would be possible to include time on the hill placing and collecting checkpoints for various events within the scope of this job.

  • Excellent written English and communications skills
